This year the Blog Action Day (www.blogactionday.org) topic is climate change. Of course it comes as no surprise that birds are affected by climate change. We know this to be true as 40 years of data from the Audubon Christmas Bird count reveals changes in the wintering range of almost all North American birds. While the average change is 35 miles, some of these range changes are over 100 miles .

Climate change- yet another threat to our precious bird life. For more information from the National Audubon please visit: http://birdsandclimate.audubon.org/

Here is a graph from the Audubon article of movement of winter ranges for 20 species http://tinyurl.com/yk85yw5
